  • Gain Profits From Obscure Niche Topics

    By Joe Cavell | July 14, 2010

The concept of niche marketing has been around for some time. Lots of people including those who weren’t SEO experts at the beginning now make money out of small sites that revolve around very specific topics. Like everything else online though, this income generating model has evolved for the better. Whether you’ve been into this for years or just discovering it, you can capitalize on better strategies.

In its infancy, niche marketing was uncomplicated. The fundamental concept simply called for detecting markets that were underachievers. Underachievement didn’t necessarily mean low profit potential. What it really meant was that income generation was possible but the competition within the obscure market itself wasn’t too stiff. Wise marketers would therefore get into these obscure fields, determine customer demand and market related information products accordingly. Because of the limits of obscure topics, the old model of niche internet marketing required getting involved in a variety of different topics. Some marketers maintained close to a hundred sites to generate a lot of income.

A newer approach to this model no longer requires SEO specialists and marketers to spread wide. They can now choose to focus on fewer specific topics. This can make better sense, considering that it is easier to promote or market a limited number of sites. Some however are doubtful that they can succeed at this new approach. This is simply because mini sites with obscure topics don’t have a lot of customers. How can marketers make a lot of cash when they only focus on limited niche markets? The answer is simpler than you think. All that needs to be done is to go deep into your limited areas of concentration.

Some people have the impression that going deep involves building more complicated websites. This doesn’t have to be the case. The real definition of going deep is exploring the possibility of creating more related products to sell to the same customers that have already purchased your first line of products. If you have a site with a long line of varied sub topics, your existing customers may find your new information products interesting enough.

This new niche marketing approach can be more
demanding on your time and energy. To find markets to promote, you have to spend a lot of time on analytical market research. Other than finding out if a topic has customers, you also need to find out if it is deep enough to develop. There are topics that are shallow by nature. This means you probably can’t make more than one product out of it. Topics like heartburn for instance aren’t the best ones to focus on since customers will probably not want to buy more products about it after they’ve used your first item to solve their problem. Find topics with a lot of sub branches that eager customers may be more than willing to explore.

The old way of performing niche internet marketing is far from dead. It still makes a lot of money for marketers who continue to follow it. You might however, find the new approach a better one to focus on. It will at least help you zero in on the finer points of running your niche sites business.

How To Build Websites The Easy Way

    By Joe Cavell | December 5, 2008

Everyone wants to know how to build websites the easy way rather then spending a lot of time and money learning complicated HTML language and software programs.  There are many free (or almost free) website builders available but I don’t recommend any of them because they are either to difficult to learn, require placing advertising on your site or just not complete enough for what most people need and want.  You can find some of these free options bu searching for “free website builders.”  A simple HTML editor like Nvu can also be used if a one page simple site is needed.

Learning how to build websites the easy way doesn’t have to be expensive, but does require a modest initial investment.  Microsoft includes Publisher with their Office package ($169.99 separately) but is difficult to use and not very sophisticated. Dreamweaver by Adobe ($1,699) is a great option but is very expensive.

What I have been using and highly recommend in XSitePro2 which allows anyone to build websites the easy way for less than $200.  (Get the infamous XSitePro Cheat Sheet here). After a brief learning curve I had my first website up and ranked within two days.

I was struggling for months trying other tools and website builders and just got more and more frustrated because the flexibility just wasn’t there.  I could make a single page site but as my needs became more advanced with internal links, blogging, Adsense, Amazon, Site Maps, etc. I needed to find something else.

Here are just a few of the reasons I bought XSitePro2:

There are many more features and capabilities then listed here so be sure to go the the XSitePro2 website and read about them all.

If you are new to website creation, especially SEO techniques, I recommend XSitePro Cheat Sheet offered by James Schramko (It’s free if you buy XSitePro2 from James).  James is a wizard at XSitePro and offers additional bonuses and support that helps you get started.  The Cheat Sheet offers insights that XSitePro doesn’t so the information is not redundant.

If you want to see a few websites I made using XSitePro2, here they are:

Get Updated on Topic of Internet Marketing and Tax Deductions

    By Joe Cavell | October 30, 2008

Tax Information and Deductions About Adsense and Other Online Businesses

These Tax Deductions are aimed at U.S. internet marketers. Keep in mind, these go hand in hand with your personal tax situation. Consult a tax attorney or other tax professional in your area. I never realized this until I started preparing taxes, but being aware of your tax situation all year is a must. Just by paying a little attention and learning the basic tax code, you can save thousands in taxes. It is your hard earned money, this money should be in your pocket, or in a interest bearing account.

    Google Adsense and Similar Programs

Google Adsense is required to collect tax information from those who participate in the program. If you’re a business, you’ll need to put your EIN number on your application. If you’re an individual, all you’ll need is your social security number. If you don’t have that information when you initially sign up, you can still apply for the Google Adsense program. But be advised that Google Adsense will withhold payments to you until they receive your tax information.

While Google does not withhold taxes or provide any tax advice, they will send you a 1099 once your earnings reach a certain amount. Of course, if you are a Non-US business and have no activity in the United States, you will not need to provide this information. For more tax information regarding the Google Adsense program, visit the Google Adsense Support site. For other tax-related questions or concerns, you can log onto irs.gov. Google will also send a copy of the 1099 to the IRS, so you must report this income and pay taxes on it.

    Software, Computers and Other Hardware

If you use your computer for 100% business, you can deduct the full of the cost of your internet service, phone, computer, printer, fax machine and copier, even your computer desk and other equipment. Say the PSU went out on your business computer. The entire cost to repair the PSU is deductible. Bought memory? Yep, tax deductible. You can take the section 179 deduction or depreciate the equipment. Software you buy for your business, your web hosting fees, domain registration fees, and the cost of ads you place across the Internet are also tax deductible.

I stress though, only the business costs can be deducted, nothing for personal use. For example, if you use your computer for 75% business and 25% personal use, you can deduct 75% of your yearly internet bill. If you have an online business, it is vital to keep accurate records. I would suggest keeping a log of hours you spend on business and personal use, like pizza delivery people do for driving, or should do.

    Membership Site Fees

If you promote your business through traffic exchanges or safelists and you pay for upgrades or buy credits, these are also tax deductible. Membership fees for sites related to your business are also deductible. For example, say you sell PLR or Resell Rights products as your business, and you pay a membership site $29.97 a month for your products, you can deduct those fees. If you buy website templates and graphics for your business site, those are also deductible. Fees for payment processors are also deductible.

    Home Offices

For a room to be considered a home office, it must be used 100% for business purposes only. No tv’s, radios, or hanging clothes in the closet, no sleeping in the room, nothing but business, or it will not be allowed. The IRS has really cracked down on this in the past couple of years, and a preparer who uses due diligence will not allow the deduction. I know I won’t. If you also deduct your mortgage interest, it is even more important. If you do this properly, you will receive a great tax benefit.

Put Money Off to the Side

If you make most of your money online, I would suggest putting away at least 20% of your earnings for taxes, more if you start making high 5 figures or higher. Of course, this depends on your personal tax situation, like state or city income taxes, filing status and dependents. Myself, I’m single, live in Florida, so my returns are pretty easy, and for now, I only need to put 10% away. One last thing, and I cannot stress this enough: the vast majority of the time it is better to file Married Filing Jointly instead of Married Filing Separately. This is true even if only one spouse has earned income.

    Keep Your Records

Always keep detailed records, and keep them organized, which is very easy to do. Make the records on your computer, print them, and also burn the files to a CD or DVD, and label them properly. I suggest keeping the records for at least 3 years, but 5 is better. If you make 6 or 7 figures online, I would keep the records even longer. When tax time comes around, you will be very well prepared, and you will get the best tax benefit possible. And if the IRS does an audit, you will have the records to prove your deductions are legit.

Effective Internet Marketing Tools That Work

    By Joe Cavell | October 27, 2008

Anyone who owns a website knows the importance of internet marketing tools. You may have a terrific idea for a website with an excellent product or service, superb design, content and functionality but if you do not use the right tactics, your site may not attract the all important highly targeted traffic. Getting a lot of traffic into a site has very little to do with the site itself but with how the webmaster or site owner advertises it. With hundreds of competing sites, you must employ the most effective internet marketing tools that will truly deliver results.

There are different internet marketing tools that you can use. All these techniques and methods aim at increasing your website traffic. You must find a way for web surfers to find your site. To do this, you must put yourself in the shoes of your prospective visitors and future clients and see the internet through their eyes. Where do they usually go whenever they are looking up something on the web? The answer is the search engine; in fact, the two most popular websites on the web today are both search engines and portals. Thus, you should focus your internet marketing efforts on the search engine. Try Internet Marketing

People will usually search for something using a search engine and click on the top results that these engines give. Therefore, you must use the right internet marketing tools to get a high search engine ranking. To gain a high ranking in search results, you can use several internet marketing tools. Search engine optimization is a set of methods that are aimed at improving the visibility of your site in search engine results. Since a search engine indexes sites by looking at its keyword density, your site’s content must have favorable keyword density that is search engine friendly. Content is one of the most important internet marketing tools itself. If you have excellent content that is geared towards achieving a high search engine ranking as well as provide information then you can expect a high search engine ranking. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. Countless other sites may be using the same internet marketing tools as you do. Thus, you must continuously find new ways of attracting more traffic. Internet Marketing

Aside from the traditional marketing techniques such as print ads, billboards, brochures, testimonials, flyers etc. you must use other more effective internet marketing tools to gain more traffic. One of the most popular internet marketing tools today is the use of Pay per Click advertising. In this method, you will bid for a particular keyword in a specific search engine. If you have the highest bid then your sites link will be the top result. This internet marketing tool is now being used by thousands of sites. It is also gaining popularity because of its relatively high success rate in attracting high traffic. Try Internet Marketing

Redefining Promotional Methods Practiced On Internet Marketing

    By Joe Cavell | October 26, 2008

Business is an indefinite market. Despite of the existence of sophisticated marketing tools to determine the exact wealth of a certain business investment, business is still an indefinite market where you are facing an undefined number of business competitors with unfamiliar or great strengths in terms of marketing their products. The existence of such number of competitors as well as the varying market conditions is just a few of the obstacles that you will meet as you hurdle your way to get a hold of even a meager share of profit on any existing markets.

On the other hand, the introduction of the Internet and E-commerce brought revolutionary changes in the business community. Although its arrival just paved the way for fiercer competition among online entrepreneurs and widen the indefinite number of competitors, it provided an opportunity for individuals who want to start their own business in a cost-efficient manner. It is relatively true; since you are not required to maintain a physical structure, hire more employees, and more paper works. The cost is not as expensive as starting a conventional business, yet the return of investment is higher—you can have your capital returned even just within a few months if you are capable of doing so.

Internet marketing does not only provide convenience in terms of commercial activities but also gave freedom to Internet marketers in terms of running their business at their own discretion. Starting your online business means you are the boss, do whatever you want to do, and work in your most convenient time and attire. Freedom is one of the reasons why there are thousands of individuals who prefer a career on the Internet marketing industry.

The success or failure of your Internet marketing career is dependent on what you learn about the basics of this lucrative industry. Just like getting a real estate broker license, you need to learn the basics of Internet marketing to ensure your success as an online entrepreneur. Although there are hundreds of basics that you need to learn, there are several things that you need to learn first prior to the start of your online business.

One of which is website promotion, a fast-emerging model that has been considered to redefine the traditional promotion methods on Internet marketing. Due to technological innovation, there are repeated shifts in terms of client from one brand or product to another. Thus, as an Internet marketer, you need to accomplish the maximum quantity of prospective clients in a short period of time so that you can get started with your business and acclimatize quickly to the fast-paced online marketplace.

What is Internet marketing? It means that you need to have your own website that will serve as your “propaganda” in providing portfolio information to your target market, details on the products and services you are offering, and contact details in case your site visitors are convinced that they really need your product and services. In addition, your website promotion may characterize supplementary information such as dealer and partnership networks, accreditation from some reputable Internet-based business organizations, documentations, free trial, online processing of Internet-placed orders, delivery services, and interactive customer care service.

website promotion is also about defining a website that is well-developed and could be marketed on the Internet. Some of the characteristics/features of such website are as follows:

    • It must have an well-organized information processing. All information requested by site visitors (email newsletter, regularly-posted updates, product information and others) must be incorporated to your website.

    • It must be visible on the Internet. You can achieve this through high search engine result rankings that are commonly attributed to the site’s SEO (search engine optimization) and popular keywords included as part of the website’s content. Increased visibility will help you accumulate potential leads and eventually build a triumphant online business.

    • It must be reputable. Keep in mind that your website is your “alter-ego” on the Internet. The good reputation of your website can be established through registering it in its own domain name and giving it a professional look.

Website promotion is one thing that you must not neglect if you want to see your Internet marketing business grow and achieve success. This promotional tool is essential so that you will not lose your way on the indefinite world of Internet marketing.

Freedom Through Your Home Based Internet Marketing Business

    By Joe Cavell | October 21, 2008

There are various reasons why there are many individuals who want to start their own home-based Internet marketing business. Some are saying that the amount of money that they are earning from Internet marketing is higher compared to their monthly salary from their regular work. It even comes to a point that they are earning money similar to or more than the salary of their managers and department heads! This is relatively true, since there are Internet marketers who are earning as much as a hundred thousands of dollars a month.

Other reasons that these Internet marketers may include in their list are their differences with their respective bosses, spending more time with their spouses and children, the chance of traveling which is virtually impossible if they are just ordinary employees, the chance for an improved quality of life, and others. There may be other reasons behind their determination to start and continue their home-based Internet marketing business, but these are all under a single theme.

All individuals starting their home-based business really look for one thing—and that is FREEDOM!

If you have your own home-based Internet marketing business, you will gain freedom from the pressure of your work. There will be no boss who will tell you what you need to do and what you need not to do. There will be no alarm clock that will wake you up and go to your dead-end work that does not pay you enough to let you do what you want to do. You will be able to tell your children that all of you will be going to Disneyland during Yuletide season because you have enough money. You will be able to watch your favorite musicals or play your favorite sport since you do not have work to attend to.

Yes, it is about money. However, if you do not have the freedom with the things that you want to do and you always act as if you are a robot who will follow everything for the sake of earning more money for your family. By starting your own home-based Internet marketing business, you will be able to ditch your boss, your bedside alarm clock, those coats and ties that you wear, the gripping clients, and other pressures that prevents you to enjoy your work.

There was once an Internet marketer who confirms that the freedom offered by home-based Internet marketing business is really fantastic. He starts his day at 10 o’clock in the morning, going to his “office” on his favorite lay-around-the-house clothes. After doing all of his Internet marketing-related task in the morning, he will sleep again and will wake up at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, do some grocery shopping on the nearby grocery store, and checking his personal computer unit if there were any updates with regards to the deals he had made early in the morning. He can do all of this because he is the boss and in-charge of his home-based business. There was no real potential loss since he can make it up on the next day.

That is freedom—even in the strangest way possible. You do what you want or what you need to do without asking permission or worry about what will happen to your pay slip if you leave work earlier… or probably take a day or two off completely.

However, there are few individuals who realize the benefit of freedom in starting a home-based Internet marketing business. Most of Internet marketers just sign up on a particular Internet marketing program and make all the money that they could.

Another freedom that you will enjoy in starting you home based Internet marketing business is carrying your “office” on other locations aside from your bedroom or the basement of your house. Even you are in Disneyland, the coastal areas of Florida, or in the casino haven of Las Vegas, you will be able to close deals and earn lots of deals. You will feel more relaxed if in between your relaxation or vacation on other places, you are thinking of a business that is giving you salary no matter what you are doing.

Start your home-based Internet marketing business now and declare yourself to be the BOSS—doing what you love to do without the fear of being FIRED and LOSING!

email marketing campaign management is not just all about unsolicited emails with advertisements making outrageous claims. Unfortunately the abundance of spam which inundates Internet users each day has caused many to formulate a negative opinion about email marketing but savvy Internet marketers who understand how to market successful enjoy an advantage over the competition by turning to e-newsletters to reach more potential customers. This article will discuss e-newsletters and how they can be used effectively as part of an email marketing company. digital marketing.

An e-newsletter is very similar to newsletters which are printed and distributed via mail or other avenues. The most significant distance is the method of distribution. While traditional newsletters are typically mailed to the recipients or distributed in person, e-newsletters are distributed exclusively online. These e-newsletters may be either emailed in the body of an email message or may be included as a link in an email which directs the recipient to the website for the e-newsletter. In either case the recipient can read the e-newsletter while online and print it out or save it to their hard drive for future use.

The contents of an e-newsletter may vary somewhat drastically depending on the business the e-newsletter is promoting, the purpose of the e-newsletter and even the personal preferences of the business owner and the employees producing the e-newsletter. However, the general format for an e-newsletter is to include useful information in the form of full length feature articles or shorter pieces offering useful tips. The e-newsletter should also contain at least some subtle advertising for the products and services offered by the producer of the e-newsletter. These pieces of advertising should not be blatant and should allow readers of the e-newsletter to formulate their own opinions regarding the products or services. bulk email marketing campaign.

The content of an e-newsletter should make up the bulk of the document. This may include full length feature articles which provide information for the readers. It may also include shorter pieces which may offer tips, review products or offer advice to the reader. The key to providing high quality content in these e-newsletters is to have them written by a capable writer who is knowledgeable about the subject matter. The writer may have an understanding of the subject matter or may simply be able to research the subject and learn enough to write accurate and informative articles on the topic. In either case the distributor of the e-newsletter should carefully review the content for both quality and accuracy before publishing the e-newsletter.

Distributors of e-newsletters should also consider including graphical elements into their e-newsletters. This may include product pictures or any other relevant graphics which provide meaning to the text of the e-newsletter. A graphic designer can assist you with this endeavor by helping you to create graphics, crop them appropriately and place them in a prime location on the layout of the e-newsletter.

Finally, distributors of e-newsletters should carefully consider their audience before using email for marketing purposes. The primary consideration should be whether or not the target audience is likely to be receptive to marketing in the form of emails or an e-newsletter. If they are likely to respond to this type of marketing it is worthwhile to pursue an email marketing campaign. However, care should be taken to ensure the emails sent to the target audience are designed specifically to appeal to these potential customers. This type of specialization should include the type of language used in the copy, the layout of the email or e-newsletter and the graphics used in the email or e-newsletter. Additionally, the copy should be filed with information which will be useful to the recipients. Another factor to consider is to whom to send the emails. Sending these emails to a large group of recipients who have not requested information from you and have no interest in your products and services is a waste of time. It is a better idea to ask customers and potential customers if they are interested in receiving more information and having them join an email distribution list if they wish to receive more information. Sending your emails to this distribution list ensures the majority of recipients will have an interest in your products or services and are not likely to automatically delete your emails as spam.
