    Achieving Success Online

    By Joe Cavell | September 30, 2008

There are four elements to achieving success online. No matter whether you’re taking a new product online, creating a new product or anything else, these four elements are always involved and absolutely essential. The order in which they are achieved is universal. Changing the order or skipping any part will limit any chance of achieving success online.

A look at the traditional method in which people get started online

It usually starts with a product that you create or decide that everyone must have. More often then not, much time, effort and money is spent before you realize that there just isn’t any market for your product or the product you decided everyone MUST have. Although this method is all too common, in most cases it is doomed for failure before you get started. Having a good fundamental knowledge of how exactly to achieve success online is essential to avoid failure.

Here are the four parts to achieving success online. The key is to build a solid foundation in which to have a successful online business. One day of wasted effort is not acceptable, so following this four part method will prevent you from wasting any time at all.

    1. Market Research is everything…

99% of mistakes when creating a business online are made in the market research stage. These are usually sins of omission where people didn’t look for something specifically. Today, there is no reason to make assumptions and guesses because everything is available if you just look for it. Some critical things you would want to know before starting any business are:

    · How many people are around to see your business?

    · How many people would come into your business?

    · What it is that they want to buy?

    · What are they willing to pay for something?

    · How much they are going to buy?

Is this pie in the sky thinking or is it really possible to know these things ahead of time? Although no one can predict with 100% certainty how well something is going to work, we can know without a doubt, what is NOT going to work and eliminate it. The time spent on market research can only pay off in achieving success online.

    2. Traffic is the second critical part of achieving success online.

If there is no traffic going to your site, it doesn’t matter what you are selling, there won’t be anyone there to buy it. Traffic is a crucial element to achieving success online. The market research phase will inform you whether there is indeed traffic available and there are many methods of driving traffic to your site that don’t cost a penny.

    3. Conversion is the third step in our achieving success online formula.

Basically conversion is turning the traffic we get from step two into dollars. It is critical that we learn how to make our conversion strategies work.

    4. The final part of out four step formula for achieving success online is the Product.

Remember, we let the market tell us what they want to buy. We let them tell us what they want us to create and sell to them. Now that the research has been completed and we know how to drive traffic that will react to our conversion strategy, creating a success online business is well within our grasp.

It’s all about opening the lines of communication, knowing what the market wants and how to give it to them. So with our for step process of Market research, Traffic, Conversion and Product anyone can create a successful small business online.

The next thing to learn is how to get ideas about what kind of products people want to buy.
